EDUCATION AND LICENSING

I graduated from Washington State University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Special Education.  I continue to maintain an active teaching certificate in the state of Washington. In 2023 I completed a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counseling Associate (LMHCA).

EXPERIENCE AND THERAPEUTIC STYLE

At this time, I am currently open to seeing clients ages 3 to 13 as well as individuals with developmental disabilities.  As a therapist, I seek to provide a warm and inviting presence.  I am empathetic, curious, and often playful with my clients.  I enjoy getting to know each of my clients and the unique story they bring.  My goal is to provide a safe space where we can explore through various forms of art, play, and conversation as we work together toward deeper understanding and personal growth.  I believe in client-centered therapy that is personalized to best meet the unique needs of each individual.

I completed my internship at a child advocacy center, providing mental health services to children who have experienced significant trauma and abuse. I continue to support families at this site on a part-time basis.  Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher as well as a Social-Emotional Learning Specialist in the public school setting.  I loved building connections with children and families in our local community.  I’ve experienced how difficult it can be for families in our area to locate services during struggle or crisis.  I'm grateful to now be able to offer mental health support to children and families, making therapy more accessible.

In addition to providing individual therapy, my background in education has created a passion for building collaborative partnerships with teachers and schools as well as advocating alongside parents as they navigate individualized support for their child.
