EDUCATION AND LICENSING

Brenda completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree at Western Washington University, rooted in the behavioral neuroscience behind human motivation and bodily responses to stress and trauma. Her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology is from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology with an added concentration in trauma and abuse through narrative focused trauma care training from the Allender Center. She is level 2 trained in Lifespan Integration Therapy. Her life experience adds to her ability to sit with your story in multiple life stages.

EXPERIENCE AND THERAPEUTIC STYLE

Brenda believes that we may find ourselves needlessly living with depression and anxiety which can be helped with a plan unique to our circumstance, to alleviate our suffering. She’s privileged to be trained in therapies to help you bring truth to harmful internal dialogue, depression, anxiety; and build emotional containment for living with your losses and grief. Her work with children includes a parental invitation to self-examination into their family system and possible changes that would benefit the mental health of their children.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Brenda’s Christian faith calls her to care deeply and continue to be educated about social justice issues like systemic racism.

Her backpack is ready year-round to explore and sleep under the stars of spectacular mountain trails and beaches of the Pacific Northwest with likeminded adventure friends. She’s energized by creating and enjoying her gardens at home too.

Brenda and her husband were married in 1988 and find themselves rich with adult children and grandchildren. They love to learn and grow together and nurture our relationship in creative ways. She enjoys watercolor painting with her grandkids, taking them to explore the finite details of creation, or cuddling up in a cozy blanket together.
