EDUCATION AND LICENSING

Cresaya earned a Bachelors of Psychology and a Masters of Counseling Psychology from Walla Walla University. She's a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State, and has completed two certificates in Narrative Focused Trauma Care from The Allender Center (housed within The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology). Cresaya additionally brings to her work a background of over 10 years in brain injury rehabilitation in the medical field.

EXPERIENCE AND THERAPEUTIC STYLE

So often we settle for less—Cresaya invites you to a life full of more. Each of our lives is a story, and our stories intersect with those around us. The places we become stuck (or repeat unwanted patterns) are rooted in relationships and experiences that were formational. In a kind and conversational style, Cresaya invites you to step into the earth of those places. In walking barefoot through the dirt of your deepest heartache and how you were shaped by it, you will find that you return to your truest and best self.

Cresaya is aware of both the deep beauty and the deep brokenness of religious communities and is on her own journey of deconstructing and reconstructing her faith.

As an eclectic, relational therapist, Cresaya most often draws on Narrative Focused Trauma Care and Allender Theory therapeutic styles. As part of that, she wholeheartedly believes that she can only walk alongside clients as far as she's gone in her own story, and so she is committed to engaging her own story. Additionally, Cresaya often draws from Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
