EDUCATION AND LICENSING

Joe completed a Bachelor’s degree focused on Pastoral Leadership and Bible/Theology at Multnomah University, and has received a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. Joe is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

EXPERIENCE AND THERAPEUTIC STYLE

After completing his undergraduate training at Multnomah University in 2010, Joe began serving at a church in Western Washington while also working at the Cocoon House, an at-risk youth housing organization in Everett. These experiences led Joe to pursue further training by completing a Master’s in Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology.

Joe interned at Westminster Chapel in Bellevue as a therapist offering counseling to adolescents and adults with a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression and anxiety.
Joe now offers counseling to individuals, including adolescents, couples, and families. Joe focuses his practice on guiding those who are processing traumatic childhood experiences.

Joe understands counseling as a relational experience, and is informed by attachment theory and psychodynamic approaches. Joe sees his role as a counselor as one that journeys with others into the experiences of heartache and confusion. It is in this place that individuals find healing within and in relationships.
