EDUCATION AND LICENSING
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1993, majoring in both Religious Studies and East Asian Studies. Later, I completed a Master of Arts in Counseling at Western Seminary, now known as the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. I am currently licensed as a Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington state.
EXPERIENCE AND THERAPEUTIC STYLE
After college, I dove into working with at-risk teenagers and their families in a residential therapeutic setting. I got to know these teens as a counselor, helping them through difficult times and learning firsthand how important it is to address the deeper needs that support healing. This experience inspired me to pursue my Master’s in Counseling and discover approaches that truly connect with people where they are.
Choosing counseling is a courageous step, and I appreciate your willingness to start this journey. My approach is grounded in Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic theory, Mindfulness, and Emotionally Focused therapy. We’ll work together to address the challenges you’re facing, examining both inner obstacles and relationship patterns. It’s an honor to support others as they find healing and restore connections—with themselves and those they love. You are welcome here, and I look forward to walking with you toward hope and renewed relationships.
Additionally, my faith plays a significant role in how I engage with clients. I understand that faith and spirituality can be sources of both comfort and hurt, and I approach these conversations with empathy, respect, and a commitment to creating a safe space for healing.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
When I am outside of the office, I love spending time with my husband of 20+ years and three teenaged boys who keep me laughing and thinking all.the.time. Together we enjoy cycling adventures, hikes, serving, and all things sports. I also value my coffee dates and hikes with friends!
