Education and Licensing
Sean is trained in multiple approaches to mental health therapy including psychodynamic, object relational, existential, and cognitive behavioral as a direct result of his rich and varied clinical experiences helping individuals, families, and couples.
Sean sees clients with a wide range of needs. He invests much of his time in Marriage and Family counseling, and individual therapy suffering from grief, trauma, and loss.
Experience and Therapeutic Style
During his undergraduate and graduate studies, Sean was fortunate to work with children, adults and families in various internship settings. These included working with K-6th grade students in a public school setting as well as counseling and guiding college age students at Seattle Pacific University’s Student Counseling Center.
Sean worked for 4 years as a Mental Health Specialist in Swedish Hospital’s voluntary psychiatric inpatient unit, treating and working with both young and old struggling with severe mental illness.
Sean has worked as a Case Manager at Olive Crest, a foster and adoption agency in Bellevue, WA, helping children make a smooth transition into new foster homes. This included interviewing and preparing prospective foster families for the unique work of foster care, providing mental health therapy for the children when needed.
Sean worked as a Family Advocate at Lake Forest Park Elementary School. His work at the school included assisting families and students with basic needs, parenting skills, conflict resolution, and individual therapy. In addition, as a Certified Family Preservation Therapist, Sean has been contracted by the state to assist at-risk families in their homes with basic communication and life skills.
Finally, Sean taught 1st year graduate students in a Practicum setting at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology from 2010-2014.
Insurance Sean is an in-network provider with First Choice and works with all other insurances as an out-of network provider.
Sean is married to Laura and father of Emma and Quinn. Sean is an avid film watcher, enjoys a good book, and loves metaphors.
