Education and Licensing
Kerry completed her Bachelor’s degree in Community Mental Health at the State University of New York at Buffalo in Buffalo, NY, and her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology (formerly Mars Hill Graduate School) in Seattle, WA. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Experience and Therapeutic Style
Kerry has over 10 years of experience working in various therapeutic settings. She has worked in a specialized day school for children with emotional struggles. She’s spent many years with mothers, as they develop attachment with their children and learn good parenting skills. Kerry also lived overseas in China where she worked at an orphanage providing basic needs, care, and love to infants. In China she gained great interest in aiding families through the adoption process and in developing attachment with newly adopted children. After her stint in China, Kerry spent several years working in the corporate world, which provides her unique insight into the struggles of work-life balance. During her graduate studies, Kerry worked at Catholic Community Services where she worked with adults with severe trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
In addition to this counseling practice, Kerry has recently worked at Center for Discovery, an adolescent residential eating disorder treatment center. During her work there, Kerry has led groups, provided therapy, and participated in therapeutic meals as part of a comprehensive treatment team for Eating Disorder Recovery.
Kerry counsels from an approach that is warm, nurturing, and focuses on exploring the nature of your relationships current and past and how they impact your day to day living. We all have a story and part of our exploration will be to discuss your story in a manner that is safe and redemptive.

In order to determine how your insurance company will reimburse your counseling sessions with me, I recommend that you contact them and ask the following questions:
Do I have Outpatient Mental Health benefits for Out-of-Network Providers?
What will be my responsibility for the visit, ie. Deductible, Co-pay, or Co-insurance?
If you choose to pursue having our work reimbursed by your insurance, I will provide you with a receipt statement on a monthly basis that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. I am happy to assist with filling out any necessary paperwork.
Kerry grew up on the East Coast in Buffalo, NY, the home of Buffalo wings and lots of snow. But she loves living in Seattle near the beauty of the ocean and the mountains (where she only has to see the snow). She enjoys the beautiful sunsets on the water and the temperate weather that allows her to hike, walk, and bask in God’s creation all year round. She also enjoys curling up with a good book and a good cup of coffee, and hopes one day to be able to explore more of China.
